The Role
Tax technology, the spear of innovation for the accounting industry, is experiencing significant growth and investment led by Black Ore. We are looking for a highly driven, knowledgeable tax professional that will be an analytical thinker and problem solver and will be able to come up with innovative solutions to bring value to the team. Reporting to the Head of Tax Technology, this position will lead tax technology efforts, processing and reviewing tax deliverables, including system implementations and ongoing maintenance. This position will interact with product stakeholders and engineering to drive automation opportunities, define the scope, and execute and implement tax products. This position must maintain a system of internal controls and documentation to support the tax technology tools.
Basic Qualifications
- Willingness to work hard and drive objectives to completion autonomously
- Experience preparing and reviewing complex 1040 tax returns with precision
- Strong attention to detail, problem solving and analytical skills
- Track record of completing work on-time
- Enthusiasm for tax, with deep technical and tax research skills
- Interest in automation and implementing technical systems
- Interest in working with engineers and product managers
- Ability to proactively identify automation opportunities, define the scope and execute
- Strong organizational and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience implementing automation technologies or tax software at accounting firms
- Experience at a Big 4 or top 10 accounting firm
- Active CPA license
